Maryland Million attendance up, betting down

Attendance was up on Maryland Million Day at Laurel Park but Saturday all-sources wagering declined slightly.

The announced attendance at the crowded facility was 22,682, an increase of 4.4 percent from the 21,722 fans, on hand a year ago.

Betting on the card was $4.37 million, a decline of 2.2 percent from the $4.4 million bet in 2016. There were 11 races on each card.
