The $50,000 B.C. Cup Classic headlines four stakes on the closing day 8-race race that begins at 1:50 p.m. Pacific.
Crazy Prophet hasn't won since he easily best Fifer in the Classic last year but he is coming off a runner-up finish in the Grade 3, $100,000 Premier's Oct. 9 and should be favored in the 1 1/8 miles race that drew nine horses.
The $50,000 B.C. Cup Distaff shapes up as a battle between the top older filly or mare at Hastings, Notis the Jewel, and Exit City Slew, who upset heavily favored Citizen Kitty in the $50,000 Washington Cup Filly or Mare race at Emerald Downs in her last start Aug. 27.
The Classic and Distaff are restricted to horses bred or sired in B.C. or Washington. Citizen Kitty is the only Washington-bred in either race.
Raider will be a short price in the $50,000 B.C. Cup Debutant for 2-year-old fillies. Wise Market and Weekend Wizard are the main players in the $50,000 B.C. Cup Nursery for 2-year-olds.
The track is currently rated good but there are rain clouds in the area so that could change.
There are three scratches:
Race 1: King Blue
Race 7: (2) Swagger Cat and (3) Mystic Belief
