Nelson, a Breeders' Cup Challenge "Win and You're In" part of the BC Juvenile Turf's main body, is entered for the Criterium Saint-Cloud on Sunday in France and appears set to start in that race. That would open the door to one of the 13 horses excluded from the Juvenile Turf's main body to get into the race. It's also likely that Aidan O'Brien, who trains Nelson, will run one of his two remaning Juvenile Turf pre-entrants, U S Navy Flag and Mendelssohn, in the BC Juvenile, which would open a second slot.
If the two starting slots open it allows two worthy runners into the race. My Boy Jack, who made a flashy run to win the Zuma Beach Stakes at Santa Anita in his most recent start, is the first excluded into the Juvenile Turf, while Snapper Sinclair, an encouraging last-out winner of the Kentucky Downs Juvenile, is second in line.
