The youngsters will take on the veterans in Friday's Breeders' Cup Distaff, the day's ninth race and final Breeders' Cup race.
Both groups have runners capable of winning the $2 million race at 1 1-8 miles on turf.
The 5-year-old mare Stellar Wind, unbeaten in three starts this year in Grade 1 races, is the 5-2 morning-line favorite, and a danger from a stalking position against the 3-year-old fillies Abel Tasman, Elate and Paradise Woods, all Grade 1 winners his year.
The field is so strong that Champagne Room, the champion 2-year-old filly of 2016, and the winner of that year's BC Juvenile Fillies, is 15-1 on the morning-line. Mopotism, another 3-year-old, is an outsider.
Among the older fillies and mares, Stellar Wind is joined by two 5-year-old mares from Kentucky stables. Forever Unbridled, third in the 2016 BC Distaff at Santa Anita, won the Grade 1 Personal Ensign Stake at Saratoga on Aug. 26. Romantic Vision won the Grade 1 Spinster Stakes at Keeneland on Oct. 8.
A win by Romantic Vision would be an upset. A win by Stellar Wind is predictable.
