Agent Q ($4) rode the passing lane all the way, then easily passed leader Idyllic Beach to win the $125,000 (U.S.) USS Indianapolis Memorial in 1:51 1/5 by 1 1/4 lengths. Mark Macdonald hustled Idyllic Beach to the front at the start ahead of Agent Q and they raced that way through fractions of 26 3/5, 55 3/5 and 1:24. Bettors Up issued a stern first over challenge arpund the turn, but she couldn't sustain it down the lane.
Once the passing lane opened up, there was no doubt that the Dave Miller-driven Agent Q was on her way to her 12th win in 26 lifetime starts. Idyllic Beach held second to complete a $12.60 exacta and longshot Rockin Serena closed for third to key a $190.80 trifecta payoff.
