As expected, Without a Doubt won the featured OS allowance for juvenile fillies, but it was surprising to see her rally from third to pass horses for the first time, en route to a four-length score under Eurico Da Silva. It was also surprising that the stakes-placed filly wasn't the chalk in the six-furlong sprint. Recent debut winner Fresh Dreams was bet down to 6-5, but she was never in the hunt and wound up sixth of seven.
The favored older maiden Trajecly Hipp and longshot 2yo maiden Glorious Entry won the two latest turf races run in Woodbine history. Turf racing at the meet is scheduled to wrap up on Sunday. There is some rain in the forecast for tomorrow.
Rafael Hernandez found the mark on a pair of Robert Gerl trainees, Slovenia and Zdenka, who finally won her second race in her 56th start in a $6.25K conditioned claimer.
Trainer Sid Attard also doubled up.
The Jackpot Hi 5 carryover heading into Saturday is $62K.
