Pink Lloyd's clear-cut win in the G2 Kennedy Road Stakes should be good enough for him to secure Canadian Horse of the Year honors over Ami's Mesa, whose only loss this year was a narrow one in the G1 BC Filly and Mare Sprint.
Pink Lloyd flirted with the six-furlong synthetic track record in the race, which was his eighth stakes score in as many starts at the meet. His effort was even more impressive when you consider that the Tapeta seemed to favor outside-closers, and he got the job done comfortably after battling for the lead between rivals.
Norm McKnight's triple on the card puts him just four wins behind perennial leading trainer Mark Casse, who has 89 victories.
The Jackpot Hi 5 carryover heading into Sunday is $75K.
