Gunnevera back to work, eyeing Pegasus World Cup Invitational

Gunnevera, working for the first time since finishing in a dead heat for fifth with Arrogate in the Breeders' Cup Classic, breezed five furlongs in 1:02.15 and galloped out six panels in 1:14.40 with jockey Edgard Zayas aboard Sunday at Gulfstream Park West.

Trainer Antonio Sano is pointing Gunnevera for the $16 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational at Gulfstream Park on Jan. 27 while planning to use the Grade 3 Harlan's Holiday as a prep on Dec. 16.

"Everything went perfect," said Sano. "I was very pleased with the work The horse is doing very well right now."

Gunnevera has posted three of his five career victories at Gulfstream Park including the Grade 2 Fountain of Youth earlier this winter.
