Norman McKnight, who is the second-leading trainer at Woodbine, said Wednesday he plans to send a division of horses to Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Ark., following the close of the Woodbine meet Dec. 10. McKnight said he looks for the horses to ship by Dec. 15.
McKnight said this will be the first time he has raced at Oaklawn, which opens in January. He said he has 20 stalls in Arkansas.
McKnight has won 86 races at the current Woodbine meet. Mark Casse leads the standings with 91 wins. McKnight is in the midst of his best year on the track. He began training Thoroughbreds in the late 1990s.
