Vision (11), a well-regarded 2-year-old colt by Orb, will have his career debut in Thursday's sixth race after drawing into the field from the also-eligible.
Trainer Bob Baffert seems to have aided the situation allowing Vision to take part. Baffert also trains Paint Me Lucky (10), who drew into the original field. Paint Me Lucky was withdrawn at scratch time, giving Vision a berth.
Vision, who will be ridden by Mike Smith, was purchased for $500,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream Sale in Florida last March. Vision will have the outside post in a field of 10.
Other contenders are Optic (1), a first-time starter trained by Keith Desormeaux, and Alternate Rhythm (8), who was fourth in a maiden race on dirt at Santa Anita on Sept. 30.
