The sequence continues with a maiden race for 2-year-olds in the sixth, a $6,250 claimer for horses that have not won this year at 5 1-2 furlongs this year and a one-mile race for $8,000 claimers in the eighth.

The fifth race could come down to how effective runners such as Cat From Iraq (1) and Wow Its Hot (3) can handle a stretch out from 870-yard races for Quarter Horses at the night meeting here to a five-furlong race.

Cat From Iraq was second in a similar race hereon Sept. 14 and is likely to be favored. Wow Its Hot was well-beaten in a $35,000 claimer for maidens here in September and won a $10,000 claimer for maidens at 870 yards on Oct. 1. Because that win was against Quarter Horses, Wow Its Hot is still a maiden for Thoroughbred races.
