Apprentice jockey Amelia Hauschild, who rode at Turf Paradise from January to April, has her first mount in California in Friday's eighth race.
Hauschild rides Second Gear (9) in a maiden claimer at a mile. At Turf Paradise, Hauschild had one win in 17 starts. She claims a 10-pound allowance.
Second Gear is 5-1 on the morning-line in a field of 10 led by Emphatic (3), who is 5-2.
