Hottalabamba (5), purchased for $425,000 at the Fasig-Tipton mid-Atlantic sale in May, will have her first start in a competitive maiden special weight race for 2-year-old fillies in Friday's fourth race.
Trained by Bob Baffert, Hottalbamba is by Into Mischief and is out of So Long Sonoma, who was third in the Grade 3 Railbird Stakes at Hollywood Park in 2006. Hottalbamba is 5-1 on the morning-line in a field of seven.
The second-time starter Mischievous Song (3) is the 5-2 favorite. Trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, Mischievious Song is by Into Mischief and finished a game second in her debut at SAnta Anita on Oct. 21, the day she was claimed for $40,000.
Yet another Into Mischief, Travieza (2) will have her first start in the fourth. Trained by Doug O'Neill, Travieza had quick workouts at Del Mar in November.
