We only have two races to use as evidence thus far, but the rail certainly seems like the place you want to be at Aqueduct today.
In the first race, Short Kakes ran down Daring Prospect after both hugged the rail throughout. Then in the day's second, The Cake Is a Lie went wire-to-wire while staying down inside in the one or two-path for the second half of the race. Notably, the winner drifted right up against the rail in the stretch, and was able to hold off runner-up Tough Old Bird, who was rallying inside and lost momentum when she had to angle off the rail late. One caveat to this observation is that Tough Old Bird is a 14-race maiden who may not have the strongest will to win races. Nevertheless, there is still ample evidence to suggest you want to save ground over today's track.
