It will be worth paying close attention to the first few races at Aqueduct on Saturday after Friday's card featured the strongest rail bias that we have observed since the new main track opened last fall. While runners did not necessarily need to show speed in order to take advantage of yesterday's bias, many front-runners were able to use their early zip to cross over to the inside path. In race after race, horses attempting to make outside moves lost momentum in the stretch, even if they had saved ground earlier in the race.
If a rail bias is still in effect by the time they run the third race today, the Grade 3 Toboggan, it would make heavy favorite Takaful extremely tough to beat.
