Seems like favorites Afleet Willy (2) and John Jones (4) bound to lock horns pretty early in the $100K Native Dancer Stakes, and with River Deep adding some fuel to that fire, Monongahela (6), who lags back and makes one run, seemed like to trip out favorably. Then River Deep was scratched, and now Monongahela has been bet down to 3/1 with five or six minutes to post. I'll need a better price than that to play Monongahela to win, though he does have an interesting pattern of rapid progression through the second part of last year that suggests he could be even better this year ag age 4.
