Imvros Pride, a 7-year-old gelding whose only start came in May 2014 -- yes 2014 -- will be scratched from Sunday's ninth race at Aq/ueduct, according to the stewards.
State steward Steve Lewandowski said the connections of any horse coming off a minimum six-month layoff "must provide us some information. We just want a little more information."
Imvros Pride, a gelding by City Zip, made his debut on May 26, 2014, finishing last of seven in a maiden $40,000 claiming race at Belmont. He was trained by Rudy Rodriguez then. He is now trained by Joe Parker.
It'll be interesting to see what kind of information the stewards get. Frankly, who is going to bet on a 7-year-old maiden off a 4-year layoff?
