Irish-based trainers are sweeping the card at Cheltenham this afternoon.
The first five races have been won by Irish-based horses, the most recent being The Storyteller (5-1) in the Brown Advisory and Merriebelle Stable Plate Handicap Chase. Elliott had two wins earlier in the day, giving him two consecutive days with three winners here.
Willie Mullins, who like Elliott has six wins here this week, had a winner earlier today as did Henry de Bromhead. Overall, Ireland has won 14 of the first 19 races run at this meeting. The other five were based with English trainers.
Mullins may win the sixth race. He trains the odds-on favorite Laurina in the Grade 2 Mares' Novices Hurdle.
