First time starter Miss Zak(5-2) overcame a pretty tough trip for any horse, let alone a first time starter, when rallying from far back and well wide to win her debut for high percentage trainer Gilberto Zerpa who is now shooting at a 33 per cent success rate for the Championship meet.  Miss Zak won at the direct expense of another slow starting, first timer Sunset Empire who forced the pace following a bit of a tardy beginning and  could not quite hold the winner at the end, coming in for her bow off a series of works on the farm in Ocala.
