Wes Hamilton turned in a gutsy ride to win race 8 at Laurel Park.

Hamilton cut the corner into the stretch with Injazaat and came through a narrow opening inside pacesetting Roethlisberger. Injazaat then outbattled Roethlisberger after a long drive to win by about a half-length.

Injazaat, who is trained by Shane Meyers, paid $4.

Hamilton has now won races 3, 5 and 8 at Laurel. His father, Steve Hamilton has won races 4 and 6.
