Avast Matey ($15) won a head bob over determined 5-1 pacesetter Nigel's Destiny following a heated stretch battle in the sixth at Aqueduct.

Avast Matey is trained by Jeremiah Engelhart and owned by Repole Stable. The win was the third on the card for leading rider Manny Franco.

Franco had previously won race 3 on Impazible Creek ($3.80) and race 5 on Karen's Gem ($14.20), who also is trained by Engelhart.
