The $200,000 Sunland Park Oaks - which will dole out 85 points for the Kentucky Oaks - goes as the sixth race. Blamed will start as the strong favorite as she seeks to win her fifth straight race. She is a daughter of Blame.
"Physically, she’s a correct filly, deep bodied, a very pretty filly," said trainer Joel Marr. "She’s longer-bodied than some. She’s a very nice filly that kind of stands out if you’re looking at them."
Blamed has won her races on the front end, but there are reasons to believe she could be effective from off the pace if circumstances dictate a change Sunday.
"In the morning she’s very versatile," Marr said. "You can go out and gallop her nice and easy, ask her to pick it up. She’s not a runaway type of horse in the morning.”
