The New Mexico Racing Commission announced Wednesday night that the $4.2 million Sunland Park handled on its Sunland Derby Day card from all sources Sunday was a record handle for a single card in the state of New Mexico.
Handle on the Sunland Derby alone was $1.8 million, and that was a single-race handle record for New Mexico.
