Enticed, winner of the Grade 3 Gotham Stakes, worked a half-mile in 49.91 seconds Friday morning over the main track at the Palm Meadows training center in preparation for the Grade 2 Wood Memorial at Aqueduct on April 7.
Enticed worked in company with the maiden First Commander, who started out a length in front and finished a neck in front at the finish. First Commander galloped out stronger than Enticed.
”The other horse is just a nice work horse, works well,” trainer Kiaran McLaughlin said. “But (Enticed) is fine, worked well, see how he we are tomorrow and fly on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, trainer Ian Wilkes said Demolition, a recent maiden winner at Tampa, would not run in the Wood and instead be pointed to an allowance race at Keeneland.
”It’s a little over our head,” Wilkes said. “Just be patient, there’ll be plenty of good races later if he develops the way we think.”
