Fibonacci gave a near-perfect performance to record his second consecutive victory in an allowance race with a $75,000 claiming option in Friday's fourth race.
Ridden by Brice Blanc, Fibonacci ($3.20) closed from fourth with an inside trip on the turn before pulling clear to win by five lengths. Fibonacci ran 1 1-8 miles in 1:46.25 on firm turf.
"That's the best horse I've had in a long time," trainer Richard Baltas said while leaving the winner's circle.
Fibonacci has won 2 of 4 starts for a partnership that includes LNJ Racing Stable and Jason Litt. A ridgling by Artie Schiller, Fibonacci won a maiden race at 1 1-8 miles on turf by 3 1-2 lengths on Feb. 24 in his third start.
Baltas said he plans a summer and fall stakes campaign on turf for Fibonacci, a $20,000 yearling purchase at the Fasig-Tipton July sale in 2016.
