The drought is over for Art Sherman, the trainer of two-time Horse of the Year California Chrome.
In Friday's seventh race, 3-1 Allie's Love disputed the pace throughout a maiden claimer to give Sherman his first win of 2018 with his 24th starter of the year.
This was Sherman's first winner since Avail won a $75,000 claimer for maidens here last October. Following Avail's win, Sherman had 16 additional starters before the end of 2017.
