Today is the official end of the Gulfstream Park winter meet -- dubbed the "Championship" meet.
That means mandatory payouts in all the multiple race wagers including the Rainbow 6 which begins in race 7.
As today is Easter, there is no wagering allowed in New York so pools figure to be on the light side.
Most interesting horse on the card is King Humor in race 4. King Humor, a 3-year-old son of Distorted Humor trained by Victor Barboza, won his debut by four lengths earning a 96 Beyer Speed Figure. Listed as 1-2 on the morning line.
Interesting maiden race in the 10th with two from Pletcher including the perennial runner-up Slot who is a first-time gelding in what will be his sixth start, and the first-time starter Fitzville, a son of Uncle Mo purchased at auction for $550,000 by Vinnie Viola's St. Elias Stable. Golden Bullet and Orbed are others that bear watching.
In race 12, it is important to note that #14 Maura Forever drew into the field.
Following today's card, the next day of live racing at Gulfstream is Thursday when the spring/summer meet begins.
