There was controversy in this race as the 4-5 fave Mahvelous Kitten didn't break. She turned her head at the start and had it resting on the bar between her stall and the one next to her. After a stewards inquiry, it was determined that Mahvelous Kitten caused her own problem and was determined to be a starter.

 Bad call in my opinion. When she turned her head, the assistant starter reached for her as the doors opened.
