MACHTREE (7) makes his synthetic debut in the upcoming Wando at Woodbine for trainer Mark Casse, and if he takes to the Tapeta surface, he's a likely win candidate. A son of Kitten's Joy, Machtree was a solid winner of a N1X two starts back at Gulfstream; from there, he was thrust into graded stakes company, finishing sixth in the Dania Beach on February 3. The form of the Dania Beach has been strong, as the winner and runner-up have returned to earn Beyer Speed Figures of 88 and 91 (on turf), and the fourth place finisher was a next-out winner with a 78 Beyer (on turf). The class relief Machtree gets today is significant, and anything Mark Casse throws out at Woodbine should be taken seriously. Machtree is currently the 2-1 co-favorite with 10 minutes to post.
