Reigning Canadian Horse of the Year Pink Lloyd opened up at 1-9 for the $100K Jacques Cartier Stakes. Even though he's won eight straight stakes, a streak which began in this event last year, he's worth trying to beat off the winter break.

The shippers in the six-horse field aren't that appealing, and perhaps the logical alternative is Ikerrin Road, who ran second to "Lloyd" here Nov. 25 in the G2 Kennedy Road. He was a fat 13-1 with 12 minutes to post, but should drift down to below 10-1 by post time.
