The start of Sunday's program has been a rough hour for trainer Richard Mandella. He started favorites or second choices in the first three races, and one outsider in the third race, but did not have a win. His best result was a second by Copper Fever in a maiden race on the hillside turf course in the first race.

Mandella has one more chance on Sunday - Ky. Colonel (5) in the fourth race, a $35,000 claimer for non-winners of three at a mile on turf.

Ky. Colonel won a $25,000 claimers for non-winners of two on Feb. 16 in his last start. Ky .Colonel  is 11-1 in early betting.

The 4-year-old gelding is a stalker, who will have company in that position from Tough It Out (7), who is the 5-2 favorite with 21 minutes to post.
