Back to back wins seal riding title for Irad; $242K new money in pick-6

Irad Ortiz Jr. won races 4 and 5, both for trainer Rudy Rodriguez, and that clinched his second straight Aqueduct Spring meet riding title.

Ortiz won the fourth on Son of Mine ($12), upsetting the 1-2 fave Stan the Man.

Ortiz came back to win the fifth on favored Major League ($7), who showed speed he had not shown since last summer at Monmouth Park.

The win aboard Major League kicked off the pick-6 that had $242,090 new money in the pool on top of the $18.071 carryover. Remember, the pool must be paid out as it is closing day of the meet.

There is also a carryover in the NNYRA Bets pick-5 which kicks off in upcoming race 6. There is a $48,700 carryover. You must be a NYRA Bets player or be playing at a New York track or simulcast facility to play the pick-5.
