Morrison, the second choice at 2-1, scored an easy front-running victory under Kendrick Carmouche, opening things up on the turn and easily holding Way Early, the actual 2-1 favorite at bay. Morrison ($6.60), a son of The Factor, kicked off the NYRA Bets pick-5 with $208,708 new money in pool on top of the $48,700 carryover.
With Big Thicket finishing third for Linda Rice, this result means Chad Brown clinches the Aqueduct Spring meet tariner's title. He has 13 wins -- and runners in two more races -- while Rice has 11 wins with runners in just one more race.
Somewhat surprisingly, this will be Brown's first Aqueduct Spring meet trainer's title.
