Blaine Wright, the leading trainer at Emerald Downs the past two years, has an excellent chance of winning both stake races at Hastings today.
(7) Alliford Bay will be a short price to win the $50,000 Brighouse Belles in Race 5. (3) Quick and Silver will be favored in the $50,000 Swift Inaugural. The 7-year-old Florida-bred won't be as short of a price as his stablemate. His best races have been on Tapeta so he could be vulnerable. He is clearly the one to beat, though.
Both horses are owned by Peter Redekop.
The only scratch is (12) Crackdown who didn't draw into the Swift.
The track is fast. Post time for the first race is 1:50 p.m. Pacific.
