Not suggesting by any means that Big Bruiser (11) is going to win the third, but a heads up for horseplayers that he did win one of the Aiken Trials last month down in South Carolina. The Trials have a long history, though they seem to have lost quality compared to 10-20-30 years ago. Back in the day, very nice Dogwood horses like Preakness winner Summer Squall raced in those. 

Anyway, Big Bruiser won his division, running a quarter mile in 23 3/5 seconds - a couple fifths faster than the filly division, which went in 24 flat.

Big Bruiser is 19-1 odds as the horses head out for the post parade.
