Wushu Warrior took the worst of it in race 2 at Belmont, having to check on the backstretch and then go two paths to the rail for running room in the stretch. But he still was able to win a four-horse blanket finish over Barefoot Angel, 4-5 favorite Three Goals, and Guy American Dream.
Paco Lopez rode Wushu Warrior in the New York-bred $30,000 maiden claimer. Wushu Warrior, who is trained by Chris Englehart, paid $10.60 in the seven-horse field.
