The Group 1 Chairman's Sprint Prize at Sha Tin on Sunday may go to the local star Mr Stunning, the winner of the Group 1 Hong Kong Sprint against an international field in December.
The mount of Sam Clipperton, a late replacement for the suspended Nash Rawiller, Mr Stunning has been first of second in his last three starts, the margin in each race a nose. All have been Group 1 or Group 2 races here. Mr Stunning is handy and should have a favoritable trip stalking what is likely be a brutally quick pace from Peniaphobia and Ivictory.
Beat the Clock, who has finished within a nose of Mr Stunning in his last three starts, is easy to admire and likely to finish in the first three.
Blue Point is an intriguing international runner. Trained by Charlie Appleby, Blue Point was scratched from the Group 1 Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan Racecourse in the United Arab Emirates on March 31 after showing the presence of blood in a nostril behind the gate. He may be somewhat ignored in the betting compared to the locals.
