After just jogging yesterday, Instilled Regard galloped a mile and a half this morning during the Derby/Oaks training session. The colt is bred to go long (being by Arch, best known as the sire of Blame), and to my eye, he definitely looked better the second time down the backstretch, extending his stride much more.
"He moved very well and was very alert," assistant trainer Christina Jelm said. "His head was up and his ears were up. He’s really showing how the class is coming through in his pedigree and he’s being a professional and enjoying himself."
Instilled Regard just paddock schooled with the day's sixth race.
