Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen has picked up a win due to a disqualification case in Texas and the development learned through Daily Racing Form reporting by David Grening places Asmussen four wins from the milestone of 8,000 Thoroughbred training victories in North America. 

Asmussen had 7,995 heading into Thursday, but with a recent ruling placing one of his trainees, Kings Wish, first in a Feb. 27 race at Sam Houston, he now sits at 7,996. Kings Wish was elevated after the winner of the race was disqualified due to a medication infraction.

Asmussen on Thursday afternoon was credited with the win from a statistical standpoint, according to an official with Daily Racing Form.
