Double Star, a 3-year-old coming off a romping stakes win at Evangeline Downs, shifts to turf Monday for the featured sixth race at Louisiana Downs. The about mile allowance will be the horse's first start on turf and first against older rivals. 

Double Star is a son of Star Guitar, who is getting 23 percent winners from his first-time turfers from a limited sample, and 17 percent winners overall on the grass, according to statistics from Daily Racing Form. 

Double Star is a half-brother to My Queen Olivia, a winner of three races on turf from 10 such starts, with one of those victories coming in a restricted stakes run over the John Franks course at Louisiana Downs. 

Double Star was an eight and a half length winner of the Louisiana Legends Night Cheval at Evangeline, a mile race run May 26.
