Carol Cedeno tied the Delaware Park record for wins in a day by a rider by scoring her sixth victory of the day in race 7. She still has two mounts remaining on the card.
A jockey has won six races on a Delaware Park card seven times. Michael McCarthy accomplished the feat twice, once in 1997 and again in 1998. The other riders to win six are Joe Rocco Jr. (2011), Jimmy Edwards (1984), Greg McCarron (1974), George Cusimano (1968), and Eldon Nelson (1958).
Cedeno won the first four races on the card with Warrior Lake ($4.80) for Scott Lake, Golden Ray ($2.80) for Jorge Navarro, Posterity ($3.80) for Wayne Potts, and Make My Saturday ($13.60) for Lake.
She finished sixth in race 5, then came back to win the sixth on Here's To Mike ($4.20) for Navarro and the seventh on Southern Christmas ($6), her third win of the day for Lake, who has retaken the lead in the trainer standings from Jamie Ness.
Cedeno is represented by agent Mark Mace.
Cedeno was the leading rider at Delaware in 2014, 2015, and 2016. She finished a close second last year to Scott Spieth.
Cedeno is the second rider to have a six-win day in the region in the last four days. Jose Ferrer won six races at Monmouth Park on Sunday.
