Bengala ($7.70) made the lead rather easily under Irad Ortiz Jr. and she led every step of the way to win the Thursday feature as trainer Christophe Clement continues to be the hottest trainer on the grounds.

Clement won two races again at Belmont and since June 23 had won 12 races from 22 races in which he's had runners (that covers 26 starters). He now has 20 wins from 85 starters at the meet. He is tied for second in wins with Rudy Rodriguez. Clement has Proximate to Power, a first-time starter debuting in this maiden $40,000 claimer.
