Jockey Tiago Pereira was involved in a two-horse spill in Thursday's second race that led to him being hospitalized for chest pains. The accident, also involving jockey Santiago Gonzalez, was unfortunate in many regards.

Later on Thursday, two of Pereira's scheduled mounts were winners - La Galy ($4.40) with Martin Pedroza in the fourth and Hailey Rachele ($4.60) in the fifth.

Pereira remained hospitalized at 4 p.m. on Thursday, undergoing tests, according to his agent, Patty Sterling.
