A hot/partly cloudy day in Toronto, with a south-east wind. Lane 5 and firm (11.5 GS) for the four turf tilts on the eight-race card.
The Jackpot Hi 5 carryover is $63K heading into the eighth, a $20K NW2 grass event for distaffers. The six and a half-furlong sprint contains less speed after the scratch of Quinn and Tonic, which bodes well for Crazy About Jazz. The latter is stretching out off a fading fifth going five-eighths for $40K in her local debut, while switching to her preferred surface. Her trainer, Jim Ensom, won a turf sprint on Wednesday night.
Off-the-pace possibilities include Mizzona and Sky Vision, who was recently third in a similar spot.
