Trainer Joe Petalino, who has won with two of his last three starters at Lone Star Park, including the second race Sunday with Superstyle, will attempt to keep rolling right into the upcoming $100,000 divisions of the Texas Thoroughbred Futurity.
Georgia Deputy - pictured - will break from post 5 in the colts and geldings division, under Bryan McNeil. He is a son of Notional and a half-brother to Grade 3 winners She’s All In, a millionaire, and Peach Brew, who ran out more than $300,000. Georgia Deputy was bred in Oklahoma.
“I like my colt,” Petalino said. “He wants to run long. Five-eighths is not quite far enough for him. If he gets lucky and has a good trip, they’ll know he was there.”
Petalino will send out Here’s the Deal in the fillies division. She is a maiden coming off a trouble sixth-place maiden allowance finish June 16 at Lone Star.
“The filly was favored, had enough of an excuse,” said Petalino.

Petalino noted Here’s the Deal is from Mi Isabella, a multiple stakes-winning mare who ran out $195,725 and who has produced a Grade 3-placed runner in Pont De Gard.
Here’s the Deal is a January foal by Half Ours and she was bred in Louisiana.
“She’s got a good mind on her – both of those babies do,” Petalino said of Here’s the Deal and Georgia Deputy.
Eddie Martin, Jr., who rode Superstyle, has the mount on Here’s the Deal from post 9.
