Drayden Van Dyke is having a memorable week. He has won three maiden races for 2-year-olds with Brill, Rowayton, and on Sunday with the filly Mother Mother. Van Dyke rode Catalina Cruiser to a win in the Grade 2 San Diego Handicap on Saturday.
Mother Mother ($3.20) won a six-furlong race by 6 1-2 lengths over 2-1 Tapwater, finishing in 1:10.78.
Mother Mother was always handy for Van Dyke, and took a commanding lead in early stretch. Trained by Bob Baffert, Mother Mother, by Pioneerof the Nile, was purchased for $450,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale and is owned by George Bolton, Barry Hall, Barry Lipman, Mark Mathiesen and Andrew Molasky.
