Geovanni Franco, who finished second in the jockey standings at the Santa Anita spring-summer meeting, had his first career double at Del Mar in the first four races on Friday.

Franco, 27, rode her briefly last year before being sidelined by a knee injury. Earlier this summer, he took off the three-week Los Alamitos meeting to rest (the other) knee, but has ridden successfully since this meting started on July 18. Franco has won with five of his first 30 mounts.

Later this evening, he rides Violent Ridge (5) in the sixth race, Award It in the seventh race and Indian Gulch in the eighth and final race.
