On a card made up exclusively of filly and mare races, trainer Catherine Day Phillips doubled up with favorites Killag Katie and Veil in the fifth and sixth. She missed sweeping the late Pick 3 when Tomato Bisque bombed in the nightcap, from which she claimed runner-up Dreams Are Free for $40K on behalf of Anderson Farms.
Eurico Da Silva rode both Day Phillips winners, and leading rider Rafael Hernandez also found the mark twice.
In the opener, a six-furlong maiden special on the grass, Hernandez broke the maiden of the 2yo filly Lady Azalea. She could resurface in a new stakes on the calender, the $100K Catch a Glimpse on Aug. 25.
Nobody won the Jackpot Hi 5 outright, and the carryover heading into Friday is $197K.
