Gary Contessa entered Friday's card winless with 25 starters at the Saratoga meet. After nearly getting his first win with Malibu Mischief, who was run down by Cassies Dreamer in the opener, Contessa got his first Spa winner of 2018 when Timeless Beauty ($11.60) wore down the pace-setting Salt Pond. Winner was ridden by the meet's leading rider Luis Saez.

Winner was also claimed by Robertino Diodoro, who won a 2-way shake.

Salt Pond is trained by Graham Motion, who is now winless with 14 starters. He now has 6 seconds.
