Fast & firm for the Wednesday card at Saratoga which is highlighted by the $100k Quick Call, for 3yos sprinting on turf.
The fleet World of Trouble is making his turf debut in the Quick Call and if he brings his best race over to this surface he is going to win. There really isn't much more to it than that. He was scratched from the Amsterdam two Saturday's ago after spiking a fever so this is Plan B for him, but he does have the pedigree to handle grass being out of a dam who is a sister to the very good turf sprinter Bucchero.
If he isn't a turf horse then this race becomes much more interesting. I like the form Majestic Dunhill has been in since starting back for George Weaver. He overcame a bit of a trip to become a stakes winner last month at Monmouth and he easily won his 3yo debut with a new top figure off the layoff. He was also a winner over course and distance while breaking his maiden up here last summer.
Race 4 has drawn a well-matched field of high-priced claimers on turf. I could try On Patrol at around his ML odds of 8/1. He had a clean inside trip and couldn't get involved at this level at Belmont back in May but that race was dominated on the lead by Factor This, who is also back in this field, and his first two turf starts were both decent efforts, including that two-life claimer where he caught some traffic late.
Wild Colonial Boy may be better than he looks in the last for Marcus Vitali. He broke poorly in his debut before making a run through the stretch to just miss 3rd, and he once again finished well in his second start while having no chance to get near a blowout winner.
